What's the Difference Between Career Coaching and Leadership Coaching?

Career Coaching can be used by anyone at any stage of their career, from starting out to post-retirement.  Career coaching is used by employees in any role, not just managers.  Typical issues might include those previously mentioned on the main Career Coaching Page.
  • Payment is usually covered by the client.
  • Career coaching is used to address any type of career or work issue--not just questions about developing as a leader or manager.

Leadership Coaching is generally used by managers who are working on developing their management style.  Typical issues might include:  Improving delegation, "presence" in meetings or in a new role as leader, learning to give feedback well, learning to listen better to one's staff, et cetera.
  • Payment is often fully covered by the employer.
  • This type of coaching is used by leaders at all levels, from new managers to those who are highly experienced.
If you are uncertain which coaching services are right for you--Career vs. Leadership, just ask and we'll figure it out together.
